AfterCare Sports

We are very excited about the new Sports Complex set for completion in Spring 2010.  With the addition of our new facility, Lausanne Aftercare is proud to announce that we'll be adding new sports to the aftercare line up.  Look for the following lineup for Spring 2010:

Gymnastics- Gymnastics is a great way to have fun, stay fit and boost confidence!  Not only will you gain instruction on all four Olympic events (floor, uneven bars, balance beam, vault), you will also learn to do the things you have seen on television.  Yes, you can do it too!  The program, directed by Patty Moore, provides the latest in gymnastics technique and training for girls and boys ages three and up.

Tennis- With the addition of the Sports Complex (to be completed in Spring 2010) Lausanne Links Aftercare is happy to bring back tennis as an aftercare activity.  This tennis course will be taught by Ali Hamadeh, Director of Tennis at Lausanne Collegiate School and former NCAA tennis champion.  Students will learn the fundamental strokes of tennis known as forehands, backhands, volleys and serves. Come serve some fun up with us this spring! Minumum of five students must be registered in order for the class to take place.

Basketball- In conjunction with Mid-South Basketball Academy and the Lausanne Athletic Department students will have the oppurtunity to learn dribbling, passing, and defensive skills. Minumum of 10 students is required for class to take place.

Cheer (continued from Fall 2009)-Let's hear it - L-C-S! Students enrolled have the opportunity to  cheer at select basketball games during the Winter athletic season.  Uniforms are provided.

Soccer (Happy Feet)-Happy Feet is a introductory skills program for students in PK and JK.  Happy Feet teaches kids beginner soccer skills while having fun.  It will begin again in March 2010. For more information, please contact Coach Lynch at slynch@lausanneschool.com or Miss Hammons at athletics@lausanneschool.com.

Martial Arts- Martial Arts develop a strong body and mind by instilling self confidence, self-discipline, respect for others, leadership skills and responsibility. it tones and strengthens muscles, increases flexibility and mobility, improves eye/hand coordination, and enhances cardiovascular conditioning.
