Welcome from our Director of Admission
Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about Lausanne Collegiate School.
I still remember my first visit to the site while expecting our first child. It was a life changing moment. We were looking for a school that offered an outside-of-the-box experience in an open-minded community that was in line with our family’s values. We also wanted an engaging curriculum that would give our child solid footing for future college options. The more we learned about Lausanne, the more we realized we were looking for The Lausanne Way!
Now years later, with two children here, Lausanne continues to surpass our expectations, and we continue to delight in the success of the school’s graduates and the students’ many opportunities for success from the age of 3 through the 12th grade.
It is extremely rewarding to work in an environment that authentically reflects its mission and core values. Our faculty and staff put our students first in everything we do and provide the meaningful relationships and support to give them every opportunity for success.
Since its founding, the school has been dedicated to empowering the individual. Lausanne students are given the opportunity to be themselves in a supportive and challenging learning environment. They aren’t shaped into one mold or another. The diversity of thought, culture and background at Lausanne fosters a joyful community of respect and friendship that is really something to witness. As one of our alumni and graduate speakers once said, “Everyone needs a little more Lausanne in the world.”
Our dedication to continual improvement, including our use of technology in the classroom and our advisory programs, enables us to provide the very best educational experience for our students’ preparation for college and the ever-changing global environment. Our entire curriculum from PK-3 through 12th grade has been designed to engage students in inquiry and research, broadening their knowledge base. From project-based learning in the Lower School to the thematic approach in Middle School to the International Baccalaureate Programme in the Upper School, studies are put into context and applicable to students’ lives so that they can shape their own opinions, make educated decisions about their futures and respond to the world around them.
It’s always exciting to see the individual paths students choose after Lausanne. You won’t find Lausanne graduates matriculating in groups to one university or another. Each student is on his or her own journey. Just by being Lausanne students and their unique selves, they are already making an impact on the world around them, and our alumni continue to astound us with the difference they make in their communities after graduation.
Please do take time to explore the rest of our website and come visit us in person. You can also fill out our online inquiry form to request an admission packet or call 901-474-1030 to schedule a tour. Our admission calendar highlights important dates such as OPEN HOUSE and PREVIEW DAYS for the school year.
We would be delighted to meet you and your family and to share the Lausanne experience with you. It is an exciting and rewarding process to be a part of from start to finish. Come see us soon!
My best to you and yours,
Laura S. Trott
