OrthoSouth Sports Medicine
Head Athletic Trainer Marty Scruggs and his team work closely with OrthoSouth sports medicine doctors and physical therapists to provide injury prevention education, build healthy training habits, and facilitate treatment and rehabilitation for athletic injuries. The athletic training team possesses more than 30 years of combined knowledge and experience with athletic injury and rehabilitation. Beyond certification and licensure as Athletic Trainers, some of their additional credentials include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Corrective Exercise Specialist, ImPact Trained Athletic Trainer (concussion management), Champion-Performance Specialist, Blood Flow Restriction, Precision Nutrition, and more.
Athletic training staff also offer concierge-level access to orthopedic care to all members of the Lausanne family, whether on season or off season, on or off the court, sports-related or otherwise.
Mental Performance Training
for Varsity Athletics
Our Director of Social and Emotional Learning, Greg Graber, works with our varsity sports teams on a regular basis to enhance their mental performance skills. Graber, who has extensive experience in this domain, has worked with many top sports programs, including: the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, LSU, VCU, Rice University, The University of Memphis, The University of Alabama, and The George Washington University and many others. His extensive work with elite athletes includes Ironman triathlon finishers, Leadville 100 endurance athletes, Major League Soccer goalkeepers, NFL players, and even an Olympic bobsledder. In addition to working with our teams, he is also available to work with our athletes individually by request.
