As we all acknowledge, the last two months of the school year have been a unique experience for all. I wish to convey my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the partnership between our faculty and parents for all their efforts and sacrifice in ensuring learning continued for our students.
This weekend, we will honor the Class of 2020's graduates as we celebrate Lausanne's 93rd Graduation. This coming Saturday and Sunday, our eleven senior advisories will each have their own ceremony, involving such traditions as the tapping of the seal, amphitheater picture, and the individual ringing of the school bell.
Given that we are obviously limited to the number of people we can host to maintain social distancing, we are most fortunate in that our staff can work their magic to produce a video that will mirror our traditional in-person event. While it will take time to edit, in the interim, the entire celebration this weekend is being streamed on our website.
Please know that we are currently preparing for several different scenarios that may impact classes in the fall and plan to share them with you on June 3rd. At this point, we plan to welcome students to campus on August 17 for the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. But we're preparing plans for state and county government orders, and creating ways to give families an option to continue distance learning if they're not comfortable returning to campus.
No matter what situation we're facing in August, we'll be prepared, remaining adaptable to meet the challenges with ingenuity and optimism. Thank you again for our partnership.
