In seventh grade Life Science, the students explore three disciplinary core ideas 1) From Molecules to Organisms: Structures and Processes 2) Heredity: Inheritance and Variation of Traits, and 4) Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity. They will study topics such as characteristics of living things, classification, cell transport, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, human body systems, and genetics. Throughout each unit, the students participate in a variety of hands-on activities and laboratory investigations. Through these tasks, the students build upon their science process skills, which guide them in answering questions, provide the methods for how to complete investigations, and aid them in interpreting data and understanding the results.
