Chris Jordan is the Upper School Dean for Student Affairs and Inclusion and provides leadership and perspective on student experience, diversity and inclusion in the Upper School.

Working to facilitate a climate of respect across a diverse student body, Chris works closely with other administrators to increase inclusion, enhance the educational experience and ensure equity across all policies and procedures at Lausanne.

His responsibilities include: 

  • Member of the Upper School Leadership Team
  • Member of the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force
  • Collaborates with Academic Dean to ensure delivery of diversity and cultural sensitivity within the curriculum
  • Coordinates events and awareness sessions on minority issues
  • Organizes Upper School convocations to highlight and celebrate diversity including Hispanic American Heritage Month in September and October, Native American Heritage Month in November, and Martin Luther King Day in January and Black History Month in February
  • Works with Admissions Office to ensure Upper School students from a variety of backgrounds feel welcomed and included
  • Develops a student life learning component to the community curriculum addressing areas such as gender respect, microaggression
  • Supervises and manages the disciplinary response system and documentation in Upper School
  • Coordinates the Student Support Teams
  • Collaborates with others (specifically the School Guidance Counselor) in Advisor/Advisee selection process
  • Works with the Communications Office to publicize and share educational opportunities, workshops, and events focused on diversity and inclusion for students, faculty and families
  • Works with the College Counselling Office to publicize scholarship and further education opportunities for minority students
  • Adult sponsor of Student Government Association (SGA) – Responsible for all aspects including voting, meetings, meeting minutes, reporting, highlighting SGA in the life of the US
  • Collaborates with others on CAS programs and student assignments
  • Assists the Director of SEL in US integration strategies
