Chris Jordan has been named the Upper School Dean of Student Affairs and Inclusion.
In this newly created position, Mr. Jordan will provide guidance and perspective with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion and the student experience in Upper School.
"I'm honored to serve the students and extremely grateful and excited to take on this new role," Mr. Jordan said. "Being in this position will allow me to provide additional levels of support while being able to contribute to cultivating and fostering community within our school."
As a previous Middle School teacher, P.E. coach, and the current Defensive Coordinator for the Varsity Lynx Football team, Mr. Jordan has become a familiar face and trusted voice amongst the students throughout the years.
Now that he looks forward to his new position and the chance to continue building relationships with the upper schoolers, Mr. Jordan has ambitiously begun planning for his role and has high hopes for what's to come.
"The first steps are to listen and establish an open line of communication through meaningful dialogue," Mr. Jordan said. "Great communication is imperative to building and maintaining relationships and relationships are the cornerstone of our culture."
Being able to connect with and understand the students is essential in this role, which makes Mr. Jordan a good fit for the dean of Student Affairs and Inclusion.
"I think it will be beneficial for the students to have someone to listen to and affirm," Mr. Jordan said. "Students are complex and high school is a critical time of growth. Inclusion is vitally important and this position allows for intentionality in that area."
