Since the program’s inception seven years ago, the Lausanne Varsity Football team has conquered two state championships titles. Along the way, they set the Shelby County record for consecutive wins with 38 in a row. The Lynx look to add to the trophy case this year, winning the region and setting themselves up for another state championship.
Born in Memphis, TN, Coach Locastro graduated from Bishop Byrne in 1984 and went on to get a BBA from Delta State University in 1989 and a MED in 1991. In high school, he was a three-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball. He was the Commercial Appeal Male Athlete of the Year in 1984 and the Silver Anniversary Male Athlete (given to the best male athlete over the past 20 years) in 1991. In college, he was a three-year starter at Delta State University and a team captain his senior season. He finished his career as the second-leading receiver in the school's history. His coaching resume includes time at Delta State University, the University of Mississippi, Bishop Byrne and Christian Brothers High School before joining Lausanne in 2013. His coaching record at Lausanne is 52-9 and includes a state championship in 2016 and 2017.
A 1999 graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Patrick Nagoski played football for Coach Kevin Locastro before going on to the University of Memphis, where he graduated in 2004. He started his coaching career in 2003 and spend 2003-2007 as a defensive backs coach. In 2008, he became a graduate assistant football coach at the University of Memphis, working on the defensive side of the ball. During the 2008 season, Memphis was invited to play in the St. Petersburg Bowl. Nagoski returned to high school coaching in 2009 as a defensive coordinator until 2011. In 2012, he moved over to offense and became a running backs coach before becoming the offensive coordinator. He began his career at Lausanne in 2014, where he was hired as the Lynx offensive coordinator. He has been a part of two Lynx state championships. Some coaching honors include coaching in the 2003 East/West Shrine All-Star Game and coaching in the 2003-05 Liberty Bowl All-Star game.
