Why Are You Glad You Chose Lausanne?
I am glad I chose Lausanne because of the diversity among the students and staff as well as the opportunities the school offers. Lausanne is well-known for its diverse students and staff, and I believe the different cultures around me have helped me grow as a person and gain an understanding of some of the cultures worldwide. I also love the diversity because it allows me to not have to worry about where my parents are from, what I look like, and what religion I believe in because I know the people I meet will be open-minded and respectful in terms of my culture and religion. Lausanne also provides many opportunities for its students, such as National History Day and the Language Fair. Had it not been for the teachers I've had at Lausanne I may have never known I could compete with my friends in National History Day or that I could further my knowledge and pronunciation of the French language in the Language Fair.
What Is Your Favorite Memory At Lausanne?
My favorite Lausanne memory is the day of the house sorting ceremony in 5th grade. I loved how even though most of the people in my house, Monmouth, did not know me they still cheered for me and seemed glad that I was in their house. I had an immense feeling of pride, gratitude, and joy to be in a house that would encourage me to step out of my comfort zone, give me a way to connect with other people, and give me an opportunity to be a leader to the other people in Monmouth.
What Campus Activities Are You Involved In?
I am a member of the Lausanne soccer team, a member of the National History Day club, a member of the South Asian club, a member of the Model United Nations club, and a member of the knowledge bowl club.
What Hidden Talents Do You Have?
I would say my hidden talent is that I am a dancer, and I was able to showcase this talent to my grade and the middle school during the talent show my eighth-grade year. I performed a dance to the song Down by Marian Hill and even though it was not an amazing dance I still received a great deal of support and encouragement from my peers and teachers to continue dancing.
If You Could Only Use One Social Media Platform, Which One Would It Be? Why?
If I could only use one social media platform, I would choose to use YouTube. I would choose YouTube due to the many types of content on its site. So, even if I could not use a news platform I would be able to find political commentary, if I did not have Spotify I could still listen to music, if I did not have a source for jokes I would still be able to laugh at some videos on YouTube, and I would be able to explore the other types of content YouTube has to offer.
