Seniors Spend Week Interning At Companies Around The Mid-South

To give Lausanne students a glimpse of their potential future after college, Lausanne seniors had the opportunity to intern at a broad spectrum of organizations last week. Organizations at over 75 Mid-South companies across the Mid-South hosted 107 Lausanne seniors. Lausanne STEAM Students Create Wind Powered Cars

As part of the MYP Design Criterion, Lausanne Middle School students were tasked with designing a wind-powered car on a budget. Given a timeline of three class days and a budget in which to “purchase” materials from the bins in Kim Bullard’s Middle School STEAM lab, students purchased materials such as plastic wheels, dowels, lights and batteries. Second Grade Students Take Trip To The Lake To Kick Off PYP Unit

On Friday, Lausanne second-graders took an outdoor adventure to Blue Heron Lake to kick off their PYP unit on choices. The students rotated between different activities, including canoeing, enjoying healthy snacks and exploring the use of solar energy. For the activity led by 2nd-grade teacher Whitney Robertson, groups learned how to power up small wind turbines and music boxes by connecting cables to the positive and negative terminals on a hand-held solar panel to generate electricity. Our Middle School House Sorting Ceremony returned to EPAC this afternoon! Fifth Graders and students new to the Middle School are sorted into one of the four houses at Lausanne at the beginning of their journey through middle school as a way to help build relationships with peers and teachers outside of the classroom. Lausanne's Class of 2026 packed up their camp gear Monday morning and headed toward Lampe, Missouri, to spend the week at Clearwater Cove.  The Class of 2026 loads up the bus bright and early Monday morning to travel to Clearwater Cove.
