As the end of the school year approaches and we turn our attention to the summer, it is also time to think about summer reading.
Each grade level at Lausanne has summer reading and, in some cases, assignments that come along with the summer reading.
Below are the summer reading assignments for each grade level.
Here are book author recommendations for your child. Titles by these beloved authors are classic as well as age-appropriate. Establishing an appreciation for the joys of reading at a young age is important.
The goal of summer reading is to develop the habit and love of reading. Finding a quiet time 4-5 times a week for reading will support young learners in maintaining and growing skills important in the first grade. If your child cannot yet read independently, reading with your child is just as important to develop a habit of reading. Please choose 3 to 6 books from the suggestions below and enjoy a summer of reading!
