Archives Reflect On History At Lausanne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o’ lang syne.

As Lausanne celebrates another successful year coming to an end, the traditional New Year’s song reminds us to reflect on the incredible happenings since Lausanne opened its doors in 1926 and to toast to the good times.

Did you know that anyone can look back at Lausanne's historical items by visiting our online archives?

Whether it be the Commercial Appeal news article announcing the opening of Lausanne, photographs from different decades or the first Lausanne yearbook, the archives house all Lausanne related memorabilia on the website.

Cissi Lofton, Lausanne’s archivist, continually updates the archives for people to access at their convenience. Users are able to research specific elements from Lausanne's past through a keyword search or browse through a random assortment of images for fun.

“I think it is important to hold onto Lausanne’s memories, and I think the archives are great for the people who have shared moments of their life with the school,” said Lofton. “The archives give access to  all of the wonderful people, artifacts and moments captured in photographs that have made Lausanne such an incredible school over the years.”
