The Lausanne Lynx cheerleaders finished second in their first competition of the season at the Landers Center in Southaven on Saturday.
Lausanne competed in the Game Day category against 10 other teams from the region at the Mid-South Regionals.
The Mid-South Regionals are hosted by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), one of the largest cheerleading organizations in the country. The organization uses regional competitions to decide which teams move on to the national competition.
With the second place finish, the Lausanne cheerleaders qualified for their second straight trip to the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC), the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. That competition will take place in Orlando, FL in February.
The cheerleaders put in long hours preparing for the competition, working on their routine since August.
Their next competition for the Lynx with be at TSSAA States on November 17.
