After years of successes, challenges and the emotional highs and lows students encounter as they navigate becoming a teenager, completing Middle School is a developmental milestone. To celebrate our eighth-grade students and their hard work throughout this year, Lausanne's Middle School honored the Class of 2027 as individuals and as a grade level by displaying their portraits in the Upper Middle School stairwell.
"We are proud of our students and celebrate this accomplishment alongside each of them and their families," Middle School Head John Donecker shared. "We look forward to all that lies before them for the last months of Middle School and the many years ahead."
Leading up to the reveal of the eighth-grade portraits, Upper School's student-led design agency, LDA, partnered with the Class of 2027 to take their photographs and create the final portrait design to hang in the stairwell.
"Cheers to our Maintenance Team for hanging them, Upper School design teacher Todd Cowden and his student-led design team for partnering with us, and to the 8th-grade team for their support with collecting the information and having the students sit for the photo," Donecker said.
The portraits will be given to families at the end of the school year, along with a medal to wear during their commencement in 2027 when they graduate from Lausanne's Upper School.
