Eighth-Grade Students Catch A Glimpse Of Life As An Upper Schooler

During this year's Step Up Day, Lausanne eighth-grade students followed Lynx ambassadors from their classrooms to the other side of campus to catch a glimpse of what to expect next year when they enter ninth grade.

The eighth-graders had the opportunity to tour the Upper School with Upper School Head Stuart Dunster before heading off to different classroom sessions with ninth-grade teachers.

Students spent time in the Design studio with Mr. Auger, in a Math class with Mr. Walker, in English with Ms. Thomas and in Biology with Ms. Soellner and Ms. Yancey. The Upper School teachers taught sample lessons in their discipline and allowed students to ask questions and engage in group activities.

"This experience is important for the eighth-graders," Dunster shared. "It gives them something to look forward to and allows for an easier transition when they enter Upper School."
