Lausanne eighth graders caught a glimpse of what to expect when they enter ninth grade during their recent experience exploring Upper School's learning environment for Step-Up Day.

The middle schoolers had the opportunity to meet with Upper School Head Stuart Dunster and Assistant Head Chris Jordan, toured different spaces they'll have access to next year, including the Virtual Reality Lab and student lounge and participated in classroom sessions with the ninth-grade teachers.

Students spent time in the Design Studio with Mr. Auger, in a Math class with Mr. Walker, in English with Ms. Thomas and in Science with Ms. Soellner. The Upper School teachers taught sample lessons in their discipline and allowed students to ask questions and engage in group activities.

"Step-Up Day is an essential experience for the eighth-graders," Dunster shared. "It gives them something to look forward to and allows for an easier transition when they enter Upper School."
