Lausanne Fourth-graders are currently learning about the causes and effects of immigration as a part of their PYP unit of inquiry. To help gain a better understanding of the topic, Lausanne families were invited to share their immigration experiences.
In the library, students attentively listened while family members spoke about the different paths they took or their ancestors took to arrive in the United States.
As students listened to the visitors talk about their different backgrounds, they passed around old family pictures and family possessions, marveling at the valuable items presented them.
The students asked many questions, giving them the chance to learn more about their peers and sparking an interest to learn more about their personal family history.
