Lausanne's Health Occupations Service of America (HOSA) club toured Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and the associated FedEx Family House last week.
Club co-president Alisha Pershad '18 gives us a small glimpse of the day.
This was a great opportunity for the club members to get firsthand experience and see the many job opportunities at the hospital they may wish to pursue as a future health professional. We toured the main floor, the Neuroscience Institute and the surgery floor of the main hospital and then took a short bus ride over the FedEx Family House. This facility is the home away from home for many parents and families with hospitalized patients. During our time, we also baked cookies for the House families and ate a few as well. Overall, it was a very successful and fun trip!
HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE). HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
