Lausanne's Junior Kindergarten classes decided to add some extra excitement to their weekly Zoom meeting recently by hosting a Wacky Wednesday.
The JK teachers encouraged their students to dress up in their wackiest attire and surprised them by hosting the call with the entire grade level, instead of their usual classroom specific one.
"It was so fun to see them as they recognized their sweet friends and got excited to share their silly outfits," JK teacher Mrs. Roberson said.
While the JK teachers did share a little bit about their curriculum, the most important aspect of the meeting was to build connections and bring some variety and fun to their online school routine.
"It was a great reminder to all of us that we are in this together as a JK Family and certainly filled our teacher hearts with so much joy," Mrs. Roberson said. "We are so connected to all of the JK kids and we've missed them so much."
The junior-kindergartners loved being able to re-connect with the students outside of their classrooms and had such a good time during the meeting that the teachers decided to make it a weekly event.
"My heart was so full of joy to see everyone together again," JK teacher Mrs. Miller said. "It was so amazing to see the smiles and hear the laughs of all of the kiddos and teachers! I love my JK family! We plan on including Wacky Wednesday for all of JK for the rest of the year. Our hearts and souls need it!"
"I love the friendship and connection our students share, and I'm happy the meeting was such a success so we can add it to our weekly routine," JK teacher Ms. Morrison said.
