Lady Lynx Use Tough Schedule To Prepare Them For District Play

For the Lady Lynx, playing a tough schedule early has paid off as the season has progressed.

The Lady Lynx began the 2019 season with a huge District win as they overpowered the Margolin Hebrew Academy 65-14. The Lady Lynx(2-1 in district play) had 3 players in double figures. Taa'lor Fondren '19  had 15 points in the victory. Elyse Warren '23 also chipped in 15 points and Kayla Pointer '20 added 10 points in the Lausanne win.

This past Saturday night, the Lady Lynx defeated regional foe Rossville Academy 52-6. All of the Lady Lynx saw valuable playing time. The Lynx were led in scoring by  Guard Eleyse Warren '23 with 15 points.  Eight other Lady Lynx got into the action and contributed 37 points in the one-sided victory.

"I am so proud of the way the players responded to playing much bigger schools during the months of November and December," head coach Lesa Mears said. "This competition will hopefully prepare us for a strong district schedule."

That district schedule begins this evening at St. George's in a 6:00 p.m. game. The team then returns home to welcome a strong Northpoint team to The Lair on  January 11 at 6:00 p.m.

"We would love to see students and faculty come out and support us," Mears said. "Nothing is better than a packed house and the boost you get from the fans.

It's a great day to be a Lady Lynx!
