It's been a little over three years since Zephyr Barlow '18 was a student in Upper School teacher Jonathan Auger's design technology class, but the skills he developed in the course still benefit him today.
Now that Zephyr has entered his senior year as a metallurgical engineering major at the University of Alabama, the Lynx alumnus says planning out his final undergrad projects led him to some interesting realizations about his educational experience at Lausanne.
"My college senior design class met for the first time last week and I found it to be alarmingly similar to the design technology class I took with Mr. Auger back in high school," said Zephyr. "The idea that the next step beyond his class would be a college level senior engineering class never crossed my mind."
Zephyr had the opportunity to share his gratitude with his former design teacher when he reached out to Mr. Auger through email and thanked him for providing the leadership and class structure that has prepared him for success in his rigorous college courses.
"It was definitely a feel good moment receiving that email," said Mr. Auger. "It just made my day to know that he was well prepared for this desired field of study."
