Lausanne Announces Rog Lima as 2022-23 Varsity Girls Soccer Coach

Rogerio Lima has been named as Lausanne’s Varsity Girls Soccer Coach for the 2022-23 season, leading both the school's Boys and Girls teams. Lima has been at Lausanne since 2014, where he and his coaching staff have built the school’s boys team into a competitive program, winning state championships in 2017 and 2018. 

“We are committed to building a strong and sustainable soccer program PK -12 for both boys and girls, and Rog’s appointment is the next step in the process,” said Lausanne Headmaster Stuart McCathie.

Lima, well known as Rog (Rauj), is originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. As a player, he achieved many honors playing collegiate soccer at Centenary College of Louisiana and The University of Memphis. As a professional, he played for several clubs, including Clube Atletico Mineiro and Ipiranga Futebol Clube (Brazilian Div-I). He began coaching in 2002 at Christian Brothers High School. There, his teams won the state championship in 2002, ‘03, ‘09, ‘10 and ‘14, and finished in second place in ‘05, ‘06, ‘07, ‘08 and ‘11.

Rog is also the Executive Director and owner of the soccer club Soccer Olé. His coaching style emphasizes individual technical ability as well as a tactical discipline with a focus on ball possession resulting in effective attacking opportunities.

“I am super excited with the opportunity to coach our high school girls at Lausanne,” shared Rog. “Special thanks to the administration for trusting in me to provide the expected service. We will definitely have a lot of work to do to continue to build on the success Coach Amy Morrison had. Commitment, effort, sacrifice and discipline are essential for success!”
