Lausanne Cross Country Looks To Bright Future As Girls Punch Ticket To State

For the first time since 2012, the Lausanne girls cross country team is headed to the state tournament.

"The region that was highly competitive this year," coach Jack Gallop '14 said. "The last time a Lausanne cross country girls team went to state was in 2012, so major props to easily one of the best girls XC teams Lausanne has ever had."

The Lausanne boys cross country team fought hard in a competitive region but ended their season with a fifth-place finish.

"According to my unofficial results, the difference between 3rd and 5th place (where we finished) was around 7 points, which is absolutely insane," Gallop said. "That is as close as it gets for a cross country race."

Looking forward, Gallop said with the strong underclassman base on the guys' team, he is confident that the Lynx will be set for the years to come. He is excited for Lausanne's return to the state tournament stage and what the future holds for Lynx cross country.

"I could not be more proud of this team. I have never known a more hardworking, passionate, and fun group of kids," Gallop said.
