Lausanne Football Defeats Hernando To Improve To 4-0

The Lausanne Lynx (4-0) football team continued their winning ways at home Friday as they defeated Hernando (2-3), 53-28.

Craig Cunningham '22 ran for 251 yards and scored three touchdowns against the Tigers, upping his season total to 539 yards And nine touchdowns.

Brock Glenn '23 also got in on the action, completing 11 of his 16 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown on a QB sneak in the fourth quarter.

The Lynx got off to a sluggish start, falling behind the Tigers 21-7 as the second quarter began. Lausanne would answer with 39 unanswered points and led the game 46-28 at the end of three quarters.

"It was a great test for our team. We did a lot of good things, but at the same time, we fundamentally did not execute," head coach Kevin Locastro said. "This game is a great measuring point on who we are and what we expect to be moving forward. A lot to learn going forward to make us better."

The Lynx now turn their attention to their homecoming matchup against Humboldt next week at home.

During the game, the Lausanne community wore yellow ribbons to honor the memories of Amsey Liebenow, a 10th grader at St. Mary's Episcopal School, and Moises Hernandez, an 11th grader at FACS Memphis. Both students were tragically lost following separate automobile accidents last week. A moment of silence was also held before the game in memory of the students.
