Choosing the right college is a big decision for students as they approach graduation. With so many opportunities, how do you know which is the right fit for you?
To make the process easier, Lausanne hosts over 100 colleges on our campus throughout the year. Including a mini-college fair for parents and students this morning in the Elder Performing Arts Center lobby. As part of the event, 12 colleges visited the Lausanne campus to answer questions for students and parents about admission, financial aid, scholarships and campus life at their respective universities. It gives the universities an opportunity to showcase themselves in an environment where Lausanne students can stand out.
"In the college process, there are so many questions that need to be answered for both students and parents," explained college counselor John Hawkins. "Parents have a dedicated time to build a connection with the appropriate people that will help them understand college decisions as well as scholarship/financial aid down the road in the process."
Lausanne college counselor Olivia New said the importance of exposing students to all the opportunities is beneficial.
"We are very fortunate here at Lausanne to not only have an interest from prestigious institutions to engage with our students but that our students feel they have no set limits to explore any future collegiate homes," she shared. "The opportunity to speak first hand with some of the first eyes seeing their college applications is a huge benefit for both students and their parents."
"We enjoy letting colleges see our students in action. It helps them to truly understand what is unique about the Lausanne experience," Hawkins added.
Lausanne will also host a number of colleges on campus over the course of the next few weeks. The full list of colleges visiting campus can be found here.
