Coming off a second straight state championship, the Lausanne soccer team kicked off their 2019 campaign where they left off last season by bringing home a championship.
After dropping the opening match of the Smoky Mountain Cup to George-Mason by a score of 2-1, the Lynx defeated Father Ryan 2-1 and Fairview 2-0 to win the Clingman's Dome Division of the Smoky Mountain Cup.
This was the third straight Smoky Mountain Cup championship for the Lynx. This year, the Lynx played in the top division.
"It was a well-played tournament overall by our team and I am looking forward to what should be a great season going forward," head coach Rogerio Lima said.
