Lausanne Student Receives Award For Best Paper At Regional Conference

Lausanne's Model UN Club attended VOLMUN, a Model United Nations conference held annually at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

One of the Lynx delegates, Ayaka Kimura '21, received an award for best position paper in the entire conference.

A relatively new club member, Kimura did a paper on her two position papers for her CSTD committee as a delegate of India.

"Ayaka bringing home this kind of recognition is noteworthy considering a dozen schools and 150+ students from across the south that participated in VOLMUN," English Faculty member Terrance McCloud Wilson, M.Ed. said. "It’s also worth mentioning that Ayaka is still a sophomore relatively new to the club, and that a Model UN conference distinction like this certainly demonstrates Ayaka’s potential and paves the way for more achievements as she forges ahead in 2019-20. We are all glad to have her as a member of our Lausanne Model U.N. mission.”

Way to go, Lynx!
