To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Lausanne hosted its eighth annual MLK Remembrance Day Concert.
The Lausanne community packed EPAC to watch performances from the Middle and Upper School Choirs. The choir members performed songs that gave strength to civil rights activists like Dr. King while they were bravely fighting for equality.
These historically uplifting songs were accompanied by a presentation by Lausanne students who also are fighting for equality for all people.
The Middle STTP Youth Defenders, led by Middle School Social Studies teacher, Catherine Hammons, talked about their experience of learning from Dr. Glasgow, an activist who is well versed in the history of the civil rights movement.
The concert is a way for Lausanne students to continue the legacy of the brave civil rights activists of Dr. King’s time as well as the songs that inspired them, and we are honored to host this event every year.
