When he took the job as The Lausanne track coach this off-season, head coach Chris Jordan knew he had the pieces in place for a successful year.
“We have a bunch of hard-working, talented kids at our school," Jordan said. "Coupled with knowledgeable and passionate coaches, the season looks to be extremely promising."
Those athletes and that commitment have gotten Lausanne off to a good start.
At their first meet of the year against Harding, the Lynx had a strong showing.
- Boys 4x100 meter relay team (1st Place, H1)- CJ Jordan, Langston Rogers, Jordan Pendleton & Nikko Bedford.
- Girls 4x100 meter relay team (3rd Place, H2)- Ebony Wamwitha, Clara Norman, Bentley Culbreath and Simi Faleye
- Boys 800 Sprint Medley relay team (3rd Place, Overall)- CJ Jordan, Langston Rogers, Nikko Bedford & Jordan Pendleton
- Girls Discus (2nd Place)- Rachel Lambert
- Boys Discus (4th Place)- Jacob Hamer
- Boys Shot Put (4th Place)- Ethan Dabbs
“We have a standard of academic and athletic excellence here at Lausanne and the kids have bought in whole-heartedly,” Jordan said.
As for the goals for the rest of the season. Jordan said it is simple. Control the things they can (attitude/effort), refuse to be outworked, compote relentlessly and be better than they were yesterday.
“I’m so excited to see the growth of this team,” Jordan said. “We have a chance to do some special things.”
