Things Get Going FOLLOWING spring break
Lausanne teams were busy on the practice field during Spring Break, with many teams offering optional practices for those student-athletes that were interested.
With Spring Break finished sports are now cranking back up as we head into the heart of the season.
Lausanne baseball starts the season with a win
The Lausanne baseball team began their season with a win last Monday at USA Stadium in Millington, defeating MHEA 16-4. JV also won, 11-0.
The first home game of the season was Tuesday night at Gagliano Field, with Mother Nature winning that matchup. The game against South Gibson was rained out in the second inning.
The Lynx will take the field over the next couple of days, with JV playing MUS Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. and following that up with a game against Christian Brothers on Thursday night at 4:30 p.m. Varsity will also take the field Thursday night against Briarcrest. The first pitch for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Games against Dyer County and FACS are also scheduled over the next week. Check the calendar at the bottom of the post for times and locations.
GIRLS LACROSSE IN ACTION At Home Before Road Trip
Our girls’ lacrosse team hits the field at home this evening for a matchup against St. Agnes at 5:30 p.m.
The girls then hit the road over the next week with games at USN, at Father Ryan and at Arlington.
Student-Athlete Spotlight: Zoeya Khan '23
Zoeya Khan '23 attributes her "go-getter attitude" to her time at Lausanne and is very thankful for her Lynx family's everlasting love and support.
Zoeya is captain of the Girls' Varsity Tennis team at Lausanne and has been playing on varsity since the 8th grade. In terms of clubs, she has been one of the co-presidents of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club and part of the Exploring Food Through Club for the past two years.
Zoeya has decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin in the Fall, majoring in Psychology on the pre-med track.
