Our sophomore and senior Lynx set out across the city of Memphis and the country last week to participate in Lausanne's third annual internship week.
This strategic community learning experience is intended to allow our students to experience the Lausanne mission first hand by exploring how their personal participation in community organizations prepares them for college and life in a global environment.
Our sophomore students were assigned to non-profit organizations, and seniors had to research and find internships for themselves in the corporate realm.
Sarah Boxer '18 interned at The Memphis Daily News and was given the opportunity to write an article and then have it published on the paper's front page.
"It made the experience that much more exciting, especially after seeing how much hard work goes into local journalism," said the Lausanne senior. "Interning in a field of your choice really helps in discovering what you want to do in the future."
Each year, the program is met with rave reviews by both students and the companies with which they were working. Our students are not only benefiting from the opportunity to study in the most rigorous and well-rounded academic curriculum but also gain the knowledge of what it means to be involved and serve joyfully in the community. Enjoy pictures from the week.
