The Lausanne Middle School is welcoming two new team members this year as well as a familiar face that will be solely working in the middle school.
Tiffany Flor, 6th Grade Science
We are thrilled to welcome Tiffany Flor to the Middle School team as our 6th grade Science teacher. Tiffany comes to us with a B.S. degree from Eckerd College. Her experience includes teaching on the middle and high school levels at the Harbour School in Hong Kong. In addition, she spent time as a Bioinformatics Research Assistant while at Eckerd College.
Kyle Lawrence, 5th Grade Social Studies
We are excited to welcome Kyle Lawrence to the Middle School team as our 5th grade Social Studies teacher. Kyle joins us with a B.A. degree from Concordia University. He was most recently employed at Christ the King School in Memphis as a sixth grade teacher and Athletic Director. Previously to working at CTK, he taught at the Heavenly Host Lutheran School in Cookeville, TN.
Courtnay Veazey has done a remarkable job the past few years as the Lower School and Middle School Counselor. We are excited to announce that we have her all to ourselves now, as she will work exclusively in the Middle School as our counselor. In addition, she will assume the Learning Specialist duties which were previously held by Kim Thorpe (formerly Davis). This will allow Kim more time to work on curriculum and scheduling for our transition into the MYP (Middle Years IB Programme).
Middle School is the time for pushing the boundaries on all fronts and maximizing student potential. Your child will be challenged and struggle every now and then, but like a wise man once said, "Let your children stumble. The next time they will grow wings. Please stand back and watch them learn to fly. Sometimes they will fall, but they can and will try again."
Welcome to Lausanne!
