Last month, Lausanne middle school students competed in the IAC National History Bee competition in Chicago.

International Academic Competitions is a consortium of competitions for primary and secondary students operating in over 25 countries around the world. IAC’s mission is to reward academic excellence by bringing innovative, stimulating, fair, and relevant competition opportunities to students around the world.

"Academic competitions have a unique role to play in the education of students by encouraging them to explore new areas of knowledge while rewarding achievement inside the classroom," the IAC said.

To qualify for the national competitions, students had to be in the top 25% at the regional competitions from across the nation.
