Model UN Members Earn Multiple Awards At Conference In Murfreesboro

Upper School's Model UN Club members attended the Tennessee YMCA Model United Nations Conference in Murfreesboro last weekend and brought home three well-deserved awards.

The Lynx competitors earned an Outstanding Resolution Award for Delegate Teams in both the 10th and 12th Grades. Awardees included seniors Matthew Kulubya '23, Dany Hamze '23, Lizzie Brown '23 and Andrea Huynh '23 and sophomores Sam Dyer '25, Lauren Demery '25, Samantha Castillo '25 and Alex Lachica '25. Additionally, Naji Ghandour '25 earned an award for Outstanding Delegate.

The three-day experience aims to provide high school students with a greater appreciation for our global community through hands-on involvement with international issues and solutions. Delegates from several schools throughout the southeast participated. The convention is set up to simulate the actual United Nations, complete with various committees on topics such as disarmament, national security, and world health.
