Lausanne students in the second and third grades competed this year in the Noetic Math Competition.
The Noetic Learning Math Contest is a semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students' interest in math, to develop their problem-solving skills and to inspire them to excel in math. During the contest, students are given 45 minutes to solve 20 problems, with many of those problems designed to challenge students and to enrich their problem-solving experiences.
"With new challenges that we faced during these last few months, the testing format switched to online and students were determined risk-takers as they competed from home," learning specialist Luanne Sailors, Ed.D. said.
