Through Lausanne’s senior internship requirement, Jordan Brown ‘19 had the opportunity to spend a week at FedEx exploring his passions and gaining insight into his potential future.
“Through my internship at FedEx I learned how to function in a corporate environment and was introduced to finance, a new topic of interest for me,” said Jordan. “My major offers a track in quantitative finance so I hope to participate in research pertaining to mathematics in the financial sector.”
Jordan always strives to do well in his classes to secure a solid future for himself, but outside of the classroom, he is usually on the soccer field with his teammates.
“My love for soccer has grown over the years at Lausanne and I hope to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level,” said Jordan. “I'm proud of the Lausanne tradition of playing “We are the Champions” after state championships. It shows our school pride and encourages a winning mentality.”
Being a student at Lausanne has allowed Jordan to find new interests and to embrace who he is, and with help from family friends, he has gained confidence in his future and been encouraged to pursue his passions.
“The Kranz family is the family of my best friend, Bergin Kranz,” said Jordan. “They have given me advice, moral support, and guidance, and I would like to thank them for all they have done for me.”
Jordan is thankful that Lausanne gave him the opportunity to learn through his senior internship, and to decide what he wants to do with his future and he feels more than prepared to take on Stony Brook University in the fall, where he has decided to major in applied mathematics and statistics.
