Senior Tori Moore-McMiller ‘18: Leadership at Lausanne

“Nothing has made me more proud over the past four years than being a representative for my class, whether it be vice president or class president.”

Those are strong words from senior Tori Moore-McMiller ‘18 who currently serves as senior class president.

In her 14 years at Lausanne, Tori has found herself in numerous leadership roles that are quite notable. In addition to being incredibly active in student government, Tori is president of the debate club, a state champion for National History Day and the librarian for the Tri-M music honor society. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, Science, English and Spanish Honor Societies, newspaper club and the South Asian Club. Tori is also an active thespian in Lausanne’s theatre department, and most recently performed in the Upper School performance, Legally Blonde: The Musical.

The graduating senior has been accepted into several prestigious universities including Howard and Northeastern, but has elected to attend Cornell University, where she will join her sister Holly '16 who was a member of the Lausanne class of 2016. Tori plans to major in business management and minor in biology/pre-medicine. She aspires to become a dermatologist and open her own practice.

“Over the past 14 years, Lausanne has allowed me to become not just a knowledgeable student, but one that is curious about learning, and has allowed the knowledge to shape me into a more well-rounded and understanding person,” said the Lausanne Heritage Club member. “I take pride in my education because I know it has served me well and will continue to do so throughout my life.”

We’re just glad to have been along for the ride, Tori. We know greatness lies ahead for you.
