Taylor Rhodes '21 Becomes Lausanne's First Female Soccer Player To Sign With D1 College

During today's signing day ceremony, Taylor Rhodes '21 made Lausanne history as she became the school's first female soccer player to sign with a D1 college.

The Lynx senior committed to join Tennessee Tech on scholarship this fall to play her respective sport at the next level.

As a starter and top Scorer for Lausanne's soccer team since eighth grade, the decorated athlete's impressive skills on the field have placed her in the spotlight and earned her various athletic achievements over the years. Throughout her high school soccer career, Taylor received recognition as one of the "Top 20 players to watch in the Memphis Area," made All-District two years in a row and was selected for the 2019 and 2020 II-A THSSCA All-State team and the Commercial Appeal's 2020 All-Metro team.

"Taylor is an incredible athlete," said Varsity Girls Head Soccer Coach Amy Morrison. "The team would get excited every time she got the ball in the offensive half, because she always brought the X factor on offense. Through the years, Taylor not only grew as a player but as a leader as well. She came in her Senior year with an appreciation for her sport and her team and she gave all she had every single minute. I'm so proud of the path she's headed toward, but we'll miss our T."
