After a season that saw the Lynx advance to the state semi-finals, three Lausanne football players were named to the 2021 Autozone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game roster.
Craig Cunningham ’22 , Ben Bolton ’22 and Myles Saulsberry ’22 were all selected to play in the game. All three Lynx will play on the “blue” team
“The game is a great opportunity to get exposure to colleges for recruiting purposes and gives the senior players a chance to build relationships with kids from other schools,” Lausanne athletic director and head football coach Kevin Locastro said. “Craig, Ben and Myles are all well deserving. All three had a great season for us and embody the character, hard work, and athleticism it takes to be chosen for the team. We look forward to watching them compete and represent Lausanne and our football program.”
Cunningham will be one of four semi-finalists for the state of Tennessee’s Mr. Football award from the Memphis area that will be playing in the game.
“Being selected for the Liberty Bowl All-Star game is great recognition for me and the hard work I put in throughout my high school career," Cunningham said. "I feel like this season was one of the best seasons I've had throughout my entire career and I'm just glad something good came out of it. I'm super excited to play in the game. My plans are to show out in the All-Star game and approach it just like it's an actual post-season game. I can't wait to prove what I can do versus some of the best High School talent in Memphis."
The Auto Zone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game has become a tradition in Memphis. This year marks the 19th year the game has taken place. Over the last four years, the High School All-Star Game has averaged 48 players each year receiving scholarships to go to college.
The game will be played Saturday, December 11 at Memphis University School (MUS). Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m and the game will be broadcast on radio on Sports 56 and 98.5 FM.
