Upper School Announces 2021 Mr. And Miss Lausanne

The results for 2021 Mr. and Miss Lausanne are in, and Justice Crawford '21 and Dalia Chemaitilly '21 have earned this year's respective titles!

As members and leaders of various clubs, full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme students and distinguished members of the Lausanne community, both seniors more than exemplify what it means to be a Lynx.

Justice joined Lausanne in ninth grade and immediately became one of the school's most active and beloved members. During his time here, the senior has proven to be a fundamental leader for the Lynx student body. Justice holds the Senior Class President's title, is a council member of the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, an Executive Student Ambassador Officer and helps lead Lynx Live as Co-Anchor and Co-President. Justice's lively presence and kind spirit have led to lifelong friendships, respect amongst his peers and crowning as this year's Homecoming King. Justice also excels academically and has received various Honors Society Inductions, IB Class awards and the Tennessee Governor's Scholar Award.

Dalia always felt at home as a Lynx and has accomplished so much since during her journey at Lausanne. The senior has taken on many leadership roles, including Student Ambassador Senior Officer, President of the Environmental Outreach Club, Co-President of the National History Day Club and Mentor of Middle School Girls' Robotics Team. Dalia's work with Environmental Club has profoundly impacted Lausanne and the Memphis community, as she leads the initiative to help make our campus a more sustainable place and oversees the cleanup efforts with the Wolf River Conservancy. The senior is a powerhouse in the classroom as well, which has resulted in numerous academic achievements. Throughout her time in Upper School, Dalia earned inductions into various honors societies, received Excellence in IB awards and countless others.

"I'm not surprised that Justice and Dalia were chosen for Mr. and Miss Lausanne," said Upper School Dean of Student Affairs and Inclusion Chris Jordan. "Both are the epitome of excellence in character and maturity. They both love their peers, have respect from their teachers and love learning. It's truly a pleasure to witness the impact these two outstanding young people have had on our school and community."

Congratulation to the well-deserving Mr. and Miss Lausanne!
