Gale Virtual Reference Library contains electronic reference books presented by discipline. Information spans the curriculum with virtual books in History, Literature, Science and other subjects. Included in this collection are many multi-volume sets.
Academic Search Complete offers an enormous collection of the most relevant full-text journals, providing users access to critical information from many sources unique to this database. The database includes 9,000 full-test journals spanning a wide range of disciplines in the sciences, humanities and the arts. The resource contains current content as well as some selected content dating as back into the 19th century.
Literature Criticism Online offers information on authors, works, themes, and types of literature dating from classical literature to the contemporary. This is a rich resource for the literature student of any language. There is a range of searching options to pinpoint students’ research needs.
JSTOR includes scholarship published in over one thousand of the highest-quality academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. This database provides high school students exposure to peer reviewed scholarly research. Access is seamless from campus. Students need to create an account using MyJSTOR in order to access the database from off-campus.
Salem Press’ reference materials are written in clear and succinct language that is accessible to high school and undergraduate level students. Individual essays are robust enough to be thorough but not overwhelming. Included in the Salem resources are databases in history, literature and health.
