Visiting Campus

Lausanne Collegiate School Healthy Student / Employee / Visitor Protocol

*All policies are designed to implement the guidelines set forth by CDC and Shelby County Health Department and are subject to change

Persons should not come to campus if they (or parents if under 18) can answer yes to any of the following:

  • Within the last 14 days, have you been in close contact (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) with someone who has a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19? Or who has been quarantined? 
  • Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing? Or, two or more of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell? 
  • Have you experienced any flu-like symptoms (cough, pressure or tightness in the chest, breathing difficulty, shortness of breath, etc.) in the last 14 days? 
  • Have you had a fever higher than 100.4 in the previous 72 hours without the use of antipyretics? 
  • Have you experienced a loss of taste or smell in the last 48 hours? 
  • Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the previous 24 hours? 
  • Have you or any immediate family members traveled outside of the United States in the last 14 days or been in close contact with anyone who has?
General Procedure
  • Each person will be checked for elevated temperature upon arrival to campus
  • If after school activities are available and permissible, a student or employee participating in an activity after school will be temperature-checked before activity
  • Cloth facial coverings must always be worn on campus 
  • Each person required to sanitize hands upon entry to building and classroom
  • Sanitizing stations are available in each classroom, office and building entrance area
Symptoms Present Process
  • Anyone with a body temperature higher than 100.4 will not be allowed on campus. A PUI Form will be completed to aid for potential contact tracing.
  • Anyone who develops any fever, respiratory, or flu-like symptoms during the school day will be sent to a designated room isolated from other people until they are picked up from campus. PUI Form will be completed to aid for potential contact tracing.
Return to Campus Protocol
  • Before returning to campus, all employees and students with symptoms or positive test must meet the following criteria:
  • At least 72 hours symptom-free without the use of fever-reduction medications AND
  • At least ten days have passed since symptoms first appeared

OR

  • Must provide documentation of two negative COVID-19 tests taken more than 24 hours apart AND
  • Resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications AND
  • Improvement in respiratory symptoms

- Before returning to campus, all employees and students who test positive and are without symptoms must meet the following criteria:

  • Ten days have passed since the date of the first positive COVID-19 test, assuming no symptoms have developed since the positive test OR
  • Provide documentation of two negative COVID-19 tests taken more than 24 hours apart.
Mandatory Reporting Policy

Students and employees who come into close contact with a person who is known positive for COVID-19 must report information to Lausanne via their divisional office. Further, they will not be allowed on campus until they complete the “Return to Campus Protocol.”

Again: All policies are designed to implement the guidelines set forth by CDC and Shelby County Health Department and are subject to change. We're currently developing the process for notifying other families in the student's class or cohort if a classmate is showing symptoms, has been exposed or has tested positive.
